I firmly believe that there is intelligent life on other planets. The universe is unbelievable vast beyond all human comprehension. That is also why we probably have not heard from them. They are undoubtedly a very, very, very, very long way away.

There are several species that have achieved sentient levels and have assured their continued existence by establishing viable breeding populations off their planets of origin. The Klydor lost their home planet to a viral infection that terminated all life on their home planet until it had nothing left to infect and died too. They were able to re-colonize their own planet a couple of centuries later. Humans have that potential, but are not making the effort necessay to protect themselves. Over the centuries, your planet was a curious place to visit once or twice and was not considered very interesting . Sure, your wars showed us how undeveloped you are as a species. Your infantile,(in cosmic terms) dependence on god concepts does not bode well for you and neither does your penchant to breed beyond your planet's ability to sustain you. We are now showing an interest in you because it is not often that we get to observe a species commit suicide. You are so close to maturing as a sentient species and it will be a shame to see you kill yourselves. There are just not enough of you becoming rational enough to force the issue. You let the least among you determine your fate, so be it.

So far we've seen no verifiable evidence of other sentient species. That said, I believe with some certainty that somewhere in our galaxy at some past, present, or future time, a sentient species did/does/will exist.
Why haven't we heard from them?
Perhaps they are not technologically advanced enough to be heard. They may be mastering stone knives right now, or experiencing their own Rennaisance.
Perhaps they are here right now. Any species sufficiently advanced to travel interstellar distances would be able to hide or masquerade with ease. That Boeing 737 that just flew by may be a surveillance craft.
Perhaps they are so far away they will never notice us and vice versa.
Perhaps they existed a million years ago and died out.
Perhaps they will exist a million years from now.
It is really impossible to know for sure.
The Drake Equation suggests that there is sentient life out there. The Fermi Paradox casts doubt. Play around with the calculation form at the second link and see what you think.

My feeling is that life as intelligent as humans is probably quite common given the planetary systems already discovered but in combination with the dexterity needed to create spacecraft, overcome the incredible technical difficulties space travel in cures and travel at a speed that wouldn't require a dozen lifetimes to reach your destination, I feel it very unlikely we are likely to have been or will be visited in the future given the vastness of space.

i think there is other sopisticated life out there because if you think about how big space is the probabilty of their being life is pretty high .i would like to think they are reaching the same points as us going over the same opsticales .not like a mirror though they started the same way with diffrent things though diffrent adaptions but evolving at our rate. maybe they don't want anything to do with us. or maybe they realesed how much effort they would have to put in to find us maybe they are on their own things to do all that cool stuff and placing in sequences of charecters to ask their peers the same question .

Yes there is life on the other planets. I mean, I am answering someone from a different planet right now.

In my opinion, I think there might or might not be other organisms out there. When we have enough technology to try to find those things, only then will I actually belive that the things on Earth arent the only organisms in the universe.

Considering all the extreme environments life has adapted to on earth, I would say it is very likely.

I refuse to believe that there are other inhabited planets until theres proof. because if they are smarter than us they probably would reach us first. until then they dont exist to me or anyone else on earth.

Yes... it will be selfish not to believe that is not true... the universe is to big to think we are the only ones.
