I, myself, think it's a weird. People can see your profile right there and some people are just so dumb as to post real pictures or themselves, say where they live and all this.
I use Onesite.com 'cause They have it where you can't see a persons profile, the only way you can see their profile is if your let you join their friends group.
I never post my last name, nor pictures of myself/famliy/nor friends. And I never say where Iive.
But what do you feel about MySpace?

You raise some good points, but I think it is all a question of choice. If people are aware of the potentical nuisances with signing on to My Space then they have to live with their actions. If they don't then they really have to reconsider what information they give out.

I just joined myspace to connect with old friends and I opted to use a different name, and I do not post my address. I post my state, and age, but its always an option. I'm still all for myspace.

I think its ok, if you know what you're getting yourself into, its your fault if anything bad happens.
and there are options for making your profile more private so that makes it safer.
mine isnt on private but i dont give out much personal info.
it all just depends on how you use it, but im definitely against young girls using it and posting their pictures, its pretty dangerous

OMG YOUR SOOOO RIGHT! Why do you need to show your picture online and anyone can see your profile. I think AIM is fine because only your friends can message you and its safer. My friend was almost raped because of this website, thats the reason I hate it, but it also was her fault.

i used to have one and used it to only connect with family and friends. my page was set to private so no one could read my profile. only my friends could see who i was and all my private information. i got bored of it so i dont use it anymore. i think the people who use it need to be very careful about the information they display.

you can make it so that only your friends see your profile. and so many people use myspace that its pretty easy to reconnect with old friends or school mates.
