this is a project i plan to do over the summer. basically, all i have is a non-digital cam corder. does anyone know how to transfer it to a cd (if possible), and edit the film?

i plan on using cinelerra for the film editing, because it's free. if this project gets launched successfully, i will put it on youtube for everyone to see.

Good luck with that. To transfer video to your computer, you need a capture device (usb, firewire or pci).

a great deal of film developer groups have to cd services.

might want to see what they have available. usually it's not to bad.

personally iw ould try and beg or borrow from the school or the local technical guilds in your area. you would be stunned to know what can be barrowed if you just write a querry letter (i personally have barrowed multi million dollar gear with only a querry letter a nice smile and the information of where i live.)

to transfer film off of my non-digital camera i have a usb pluggin that hooks into the camera. and when you get into the editing program you set it up and press play. Hopefully this helped you a little bit!

Talk to your local churches or even better your school and see if they have the equipment to lend for you to do this project. You might be very surprised at the technology available to churches these days.
