Windows Vista is not downloadable. And it won't be available to the public for another 30 days or so.

Whenever you upgrade an OS it's always a good idea to remove any antivirus software first. Vista does have issues with most antivirus software (based on my personal beta testing) so you'll either need to upgrade or look for a patch once Vista is released.

I think that microsoft closed access to kernel in vista..so software like mcafee wouldn't be able to work...they will release some kernel api soon so mcafee might work on it soon...but nobody knows when...Microsft is with Norton not with Mcafee..lol...

It sure will... Haven't you heard all the news about Vista blocking anti-virus programs from accessing certain parts of the operating system? Symantec was going to sue Microsoft over it.

McAfee just isn't good. I reccomend switching products. But to answer your question, it still should run fine on Vista.

It shouldn't. Not if you are downloading the home basic version of it. Business and Ultimate versions come with their own security and may conflict with McAfee.
