Well, I was given a thumbs down on a similar question. I received ANOTHER chocolate fountain; which makes a grand total of three now. Not wanting to sound ungrateful but I think it's okay to have just one. I like the gift but don't really "need" it. I think I'll return it for something more practical perhaps.
How about you?

I have gotten numerous cute, frilly, ultra-feminine articles of clothing for Christmas from my mother, who means well. While she still did this, she was buying for the person she really wished she had for a daughter. (The person she has for a daughter has not worn a skirt for a decade or more.) All of it would have been fine for someone else, and as it got donated to charity, I hope it fell into the hands of some woman who adores teddy bears and ruffles and cute sayings. I am kind of picky about what I wear, but I think most of us are in our different ways, and the best way to buy clothes for another adult is to buy a the person a gift certificate and let her/him pick it out.

gift cards....I hate them. I make plenty of money on my own and can buy whatever I want when I see it/want it....now I am forced to shop someplace and remember to use the damn card. Also they are so impersonal. I would rather have something worth $5 that someone put some thought or time into than a $50 giftcard.

I got a sweatshirt that was too small and it had embroidered flowers on it (not my style) and I will probably sell it on ebay like I did with the sweatshirt I got last year (too small with embroidered birdhouses on it)
