The computer user herself is often who installs viruses in their own computer, by clicking attachments in an e mail. Or clicking a bad link in an instant messege. Or stealing software using Limewire or other P2P clients. Failure to keep their Windows operating system updated and patched every month is another sure way to have an infected computer!

Always remember that in order for a computer to catch a virus, a program must be executed and this often means the computer user is clicking "YES" when they should be clicking "NO".

The very best preventive for virus is what resides between the keyboard and the chair!

Viruses are peices of code designed to negatively impact your computer..
A virus can be designed or coded by anyone, be it a 10 yr old kid or a 60 yr old guy...

Viruses get into your pc mainly through the internet. Whenever you visit infected sites or download infected files. Most antivirus programs help prevent this..
They can also get into your system through corrupted files in cds or floppies..

Viruses get on your computer by either downloading it via email or going to a malicious website. Worms are special types of viruses that can get on your computer by scanning your computer for vulnerabilities and then sending itself to your computer. So if someone on the same network has a worm you can get the worm as well, even if you didn't do anything.

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

They are attached to programs or files that you download from the internet, or they are disguised as a legitimate program or file, or they are installed on your computer remotely by a hacker.
