Ok..so I've heard that the Jacksonville FL area is very boring, a little redneck, and not the best place to live. But I'm moving there and I really need to hear something positive! Are there any places that are fun or worth seeing? I love to go to nice restaurants and lounges. I know that there's an NFL team, so there must be a few local hot spots. Please...SOMEONE give me some good news about my move!

The Neptune Beach/ Atlantic Beach area is very laid back and always fun. The beach there is far less crowded. The restaurants and bars are also very nice. Try out Mezza Luna. The seafood they serve is absolutely delicious! Downtown is fun at times. I would not recommend going to the Landing. The bars are overpriced and the restaurants provide lousy service. Marks across from the courthouse is a nice lounge. Tinseltown is also a fun area. That is the area that has many restaurants. I would recommend going to Mellow Mushroom on a Friday Night.

My Mom lives in Jacksonville. It is a little boring, but there are plenty of other interesting cities nearby. We went to St. Augustine (I think it is the oldest city in Florida, where you can tour the "Fountain of Youth") and did a ghost tour. There was also a really nice State Park near by where the St. Johns River was just loaded with Manatee's that were right by the shore. My Mom would tell you to go eat at "Grumpy's" in Orange Park.

I know there is a very nice restaurant, on the Airport Road called THE MILLHOUSE(more than a steakhouse) that is great, the food is really good, nice place to eat, if you like, it has a bar, i would give it a thumbs up.....That is really all I know about Jacksonville, I almost forgot, there is a really nice beach there.

If you like restaurants and lounges you are going to love it there! There are so many great places to eat and dance and just sit and enjoy the bay, the ocean, sunsets, and sailboats galore.

Tired of it? Drive down to St. Augustine and enjoy more history and fun than you could imagine. The entire east coast of Florida is yours to enjoy.
