what should a small, short person like me wear to a new years party?

all of the girls are wearing dresses as if going to a cocktail party and i dont have any dresses like that. any suggestions on hair, makeup, clothing, shoes and other

Can you borrow or buy a cocktail dress? Something with lots of sparkle. Maybe try a thrift store or consignment store if you're short on funds. Then add spike heels and a new year's tiara to add height (sounds like you might wish you were taller) and super sparkley jewelery. Glam makeup and hair, of course!

I suggest buying a dress or getting a nice shirt and skirt or dress pants. V-necks are always good on short people because it makes you appear longer. If you get a skirt it should be above the knee or your legs will look like little trunks. Get pants without cuffs and wear high heels (if you know how to walk in them).

hair and make-up is up to you...if you are not sure get a regular cut or style at the salon and get your make-up done at a beauty counter.

if you really don`t have any of that, & aren`t willing to buy something new ...

black dress pants always look cute with a nice cardigan or nice flowy top. & dress it upp with some accesories of your choice and heels to match.

for hair & makeup ... maybe go a little dark with the makeup? smoky eyes & volumized hair, but still ALL ON YOU.
