I recommend glue traps. Even if they say they're prebaited, put a little bit of cheese smack dab in the center and it'll get stuck to it. If you get the snap shut kind, you have to deal with accidentally tripping it yourself..OUCH. Or cleaning up mouse blood when it closes down on it's head. Sorry to be graphic, but it's the case.
Seriously though, it's as scared of you as you are of it so it's not gonna mess with you at night.
Mice fecal matter is nasty and unhealthy, they tend to poo alot, so that can be problem.
Cats do help. We just got a pet one and we've had no problems since. We live in the country on a bunch of land, so mice tend to come in during the winter. Since kitty came to play the mice have decided not to stay lol.

Yes they can carry diseases, make sure there is nothing for it to eat, no food in bags or boxes use plastic or metal containers for grains snacks and cereals and what not, then get traps put peanut butter on them and get rid of the mice, after they are gone clean out your cabinets and sanitize them and put everything away I hate mice running through the house, we once had field mice and hubby called them cute little country mice, well I had a night mear that they were crawling on me while sleeping in bed and I woke up hubby he looked at me and said they are just little country mice honey and turned over he had big mouse ears a mouse nose teeth and long whiskers, we woke up with me screaming, the next day he made a nasty water bucket trap and bought all kinds of traps

Go to the hardware store and buy some glue trap. Put a small dab of peanut butter in the center to entice him and then put them in the pantry where he has left his calling cards. You will have him caught on the trap the next day. Then you put the trap, mouse and all in a paper bag and club him (so he doesn't suffer needlessly) then throw the whole thing in the trash.
If you are too squeamish to do the above - call an exterminator.

Go to the hardware store and buy the age old mouse traps and put some peanut butter on the trip levers of 2 or 3 of them. In a couple of nights your going to have one dead mouse! Make sure to get the mouse traps with the yellow plastic trip pads, not the metal copper looking bait pad. Be careful of your fingers when your setting the traps. I like to mount the traps on a small piece of board to make it easier to bait them.

Do not be scared! Really! They will run 10x faster than you will from them! They do carry disease but you can get rid of them by putting out traps- sticky traps- metal ones- or u can get the traps that let u release them to the woods close by! Hope this helps and if not you can always call an exterminater!

NO WHAT EVER YOU DO, DO NOT KILL IT OR LET IT BE EATEN!!!! just set out a cage with some cheese or cereal and let it come in. after a day or so go up and see if hes caught if your not too scared, trust me, hes more scared of you than you are of him. and once you catch him let him go in the field where a field mouse belongs. He'll be happy and wont be able to find his way back.

Dont worry they are probably more scared of you then you are of them. Put up mouse traps and if they dont get cought you could call pest patrol. I dont think you can tell if a mouse has a disease just by the name of them. You could look field mouse in the dictionary, that will probably give you more info about them.

Don't worry - I had a rat in my ceiling.
Do one of 2 things. Put a baited (cheese) mouse trap in your pantry. .. Or, a small bowl of rat poison. Just make sure they are somewhere near where the mouse goes.
If you're too squeamish about killing a mouse, get one of the expensive traps that just catches them - and bait it :-)

THE MOUSE WON'T HURT YOU. YOU CAN GO TO THE STORE AND GET A MOUSE TRAP HOTEL. THAT WAY YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING BUT SET IT ON THE FLOOR. THEN WHEN THE MOUSE GOES IN YOU CAN THROW IT AWAY. YOU MIGHT HAVE MORE THAT 1 MOUSE. CLEAN OUT YOUR PANTRY AND THROW ANYTHING AWAY THAT THE MOUSE CHEWED ON. IT'S NOT THE END OF THE WORLD.

It is a rodent. Yeah, they can. However, best to get a mouse trap or two. You could call the pest control peoples. Or just do like Bono and Coexist.
