We aren't hanging Saddam. The Iraqi government is.
It isn't going to affect our form of government in the slightest.

I find that the majority of your answers actually proffer evidence that America has already preceded down a slippery slope.
Rejoicing in someones death is not the Moral Highground the Redsters claim to possess.
No matter what happens in Iraq. The United States will be blamed.
Very few residents of America have been effected one way or another by Saddam he is only a Man in a distant land. Celebrating the demise of a stranger is not good for your soul.
Go big Red Go

Understand that there will be a "new world order", it will be run by big business, as the USA is today!..The big corporates put Dubyah into power to do just that, Americans think they 'elected' him, the rest of the world knows different!..Due to media control , selective censorship , and vote rigging and buying, which the American people have never been told about. The big corporate body's, that is oil and military industrials, have now gained power, and their not about to give it up!..They make the decisions, they start the wars, wars are good for the economy, it stimulates manufacturing, never mind the corruption involved, that's just good business practise!..These people, the 'neocons' have no conscience, no moral values, only the corporate dollar matters!..Dont listen to them when they proclaim their "Holy righteous Christian" values..They lie like pigs in mud!..They only value profit, and they don't care who has to suffer, or even die in horrible fashion..So long as the profit is made and the share market stays strong!..Basic human rights and freedoms will and are slowly disappearing in America, without the people really understanding what is happening to them..Until its too late!..And it probably already is!....

Methinks you might be overreacting a wee bit, but for the record the IRAQIS are hanging Saddam, not us (though we probably would have to). Is this the end of America? I don't think so, this country has a lot of good in it, and i think that if we start to worry more about America, and less about the world, then we will be around for a long time

I certainly hope so. The America that I know has strayed so far from the ideals of its founders that they would hardly recognize it. And I don't just mean the current Administration, either. Since WWII, we have stuck our noses, money, guns, and operatives into so many places that we didn't belong that we are not welcome anywhere, anymore. The current debacle is just the culmination of what happens to a country that allows its hubris to cloud its common sense.

It will hopefully be the collapse of the Iraqi dictatorship and the emergence of a democracy in the troubled Middle East.
Democracy isn't in any danger - consider the number of democracies following WWI vs. the number of democracies in the world today.

No, but it may be the beginning of democracy in Iraq. The American democracy needs to be united against terrorist. We are now doing nothing except send our army to fight an invisible enemy. An army can fight an army or destroy a country, but only people really have the power to defeat terrorist. What sacrifice or anything are most people doing to fight terrorist???

Not really, The outcome was already known before the trial began and Sadaam was foing to be killed but this is more of an example of the degredation of our foriegn policy than it does our democracy.
