I'm an extremely busy and pretty poor student. I have a lack of fashion sense and people have said I choose nice clothes that fit my body but they're plain (a lot of them are black because that color looks best on me.) How do I get interesting clothes without looking crazy and spending a lot? Should I go to a vintage clothes store and find really interesting clothes? Should I get a lot of jewelry? Should I get more shirts with cute little funny things written on them? Will I lose my authentic self if I change my style completely?

Go to the mall. I spend money on unessary clothing just because i get a really good deal on it. Its not hard to look for deals, just shop around. I dont buy shirts that cost more then like 12 bucks at the most and I dont spend more then 30 for pants. Always go with more shirts then pants buy a couple belts and some jewelry thats not flashy but addes something.

Here are some stores that you possibly might have around you that have good deals.

Charolete Rouse usually has a big clearence section depending on when you go you can even get another percentage amount takin of clerence price.

Forever 21/ XXI has really cheap jewelry and hair asseories, you can even find a good deal on some clothing.

Aeropostale is pretty much always having some sort of sell like half price or buy one get one free.

Jcpenny always has vintage shirts at pretty low prices.

Hope this helps

Okay this may just be me but ummm black is a slimmy color.. Ross is on the cheaper side of things..Have you worn anything that has some color to it.. maybe jeans and a belt or something. keep it short and easy to do. If you dont have time to mess around with things. I know i dont. I give myself 10 mins at the most to get ready in the morning. Kohles has good sale racks... i would have to look more into your closet to decide on what would really not majoly change your apperence but make it not so blah. Add color if can...Belts umm different styles of shirts.. maybe a nice neaklace... all i know is that stores more in the mall are not going to be cheap. I think the best place for you to go look around in and try color on is Ross...They also are pertty cheap and have good lables..i have tons of clothing frm there and everyone says that its good.. add a little something to it may make it look even different. You can take black dress up pants and a top of some sort depending on what type fits you the best. and add a kinda drapy belt thats a light color around you.. i had a plain bk pants and a bk top that had small poka dots on it and used a silver belt on it and it looked really good..and may change things up a bit

If the most of your outfit is black, get notice by pretty bag and shoes. Dont stick to pastel color, buy the eye-catching one! Pink and purple are sweet! So splurge in bags and shoes!

Do change your hairstyle oftenly. A bristle brush and hairdryer are the least essential tools that MUST HAVE for a girl. A ponytail, a braid or even a bun will change the way people look at you!

Accessory is also a wise idea. But keep it minimum and simple. Pick a non-seasonal one, so you will always stand in a safe side! A collection of accessory will accentuate your style and appearance.

You go, girl! Good luck!

You don't have to change your style completely, but changing your look would be cool. Pay attention to magazines and fashion shows, but really, as long as it's you and it's hip, anything goes. My #1 fashion tip is accesorize! You can make an outfit really unique by accesorizing, and it's a whole lot of fun! To save money, pick out items that are classic and that you can wear for a long time, like a black blazer or trench coat, or straight leg dark wash jeans. My favorite trend right now is the skinny jeans, but don't spend all your money on things that are just trendy, even though having some trendy items is good, pick out things that you really like and that flatter you. Happy Shopping!

If you have your style and you are so busy and you cant afford anything, dont worry about it.

If you are worried about it, start small...if you are out shopping and find what you want in black, try it on in a color. Choose a color that will enhance your natural color, bring out the pink in your cheeks or the green in your eyes for example. Then buy it in the color you like best.

I like having black pants, skirts, shoes...black is great. You can wear the same pants here and there and they always go with whatever top. Get some dark grey or dark brown if you are not too sure about color.

A lighter color top is always nice to break up the black. I dont usually like to wear black pants and a burgundy top...Id rather wear a pink top and save the burgundy top for the light tan pants.

Look at people with your same coloring and see what colors they look good in, just try to become more aware of colors, patterns, etc. Try a skirt in a pattern or color if you are freaked out by color near your face. I have a problem wearing larger patterns on top because I dont want compitition wtih glasses, hair, earrings, makeup, etc.

Im rambling..good luck and have fun!

Since you don't have a lot of money, my advice would be keep wearing black and get creative with the accessories. Look in vintage and thrift stores for funky items. Buy what you like based on the merits of the individual item without having a preconceived idea of the total look you want. That's what I do and somehow it just works (I am extremely cool). Don't go for what you think other people like or what's trendy, unless the trendy thing really appeals to you.

Do not change your style completely. But as for more fashionable things, try cheaper places like Deb, Aeropostale, Rue 21, and outlet stores. The prices at those stores aren't always great, but they usually have great sales and slae prices, especially Aeropostale.
To have more fashion sense, try adding some color to your wardrobe and accesories. Also, shirts with funny things or cute things written on them are always cute, and another cute thing are shrugs. You can get the ones that tie, or the ones that button in the front and are short sleeve. With the ones that button, you can button them or leave them undone and they look really good. Also, half jackets, shrunken looks, and layered looks always look good!

give your old jeans some life by going to the craft store. Buy some glitter glue and think of a fancy name like 'buzhu je zhenoma' or something like that and right it on the side of your jeans in fancy writing. Then, go to discount stores (Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, Ross) and get some stuff.
