If this is your fourth child, being 1 cm means absolutely nothing. After you have had one baby, your cervix never closes up as tightly as with your first. You have probably been 1 cm since you conceived this baby.

My best friend had her 4th baby by csection and she came six weeks early (water broke) the baby did have respitory problems but now she is a healthy 8 month old baby. If the baby can wait until at least 36 or 37 weeks she should be fine. Good luck

The more babies you have the quicker they drop and the more readily your cervix softens. Its a routine its used to.

You could have her early, its always a possibility.

However, I've been fully engaged at station five, walking around a grapefruit in my crotch, and effaced since 32 weeks. Iam now 36 weeks with little change at all.

Its certainly possible your baby will be early. But its equally as possible that you'll end up at 41 weeks and still no baby... lol.

Your doctor will monitor you.
