Absolutely, it is as if they can't exist without something shoved up against or stuffed in their ears! It is sad that people seem to talk more on those things than they do face to face.

There is no doubt about it. Technology changes fast, and cell phone companies have to make their product more attractive to remain in business. The novelty of better features always attracts humans as they get bored with the same thing as time passes. The desire to keep up with the others also induces people to go in for newer things. Cell phones have become affordable too, nowadays.
All these put together, it is no wonder that cell phones with newer and better features have caught the peoples fancy, to the extent of their being obsessed with them.

I have NO doubt about it!!! They are a great invention and I would never do without mine, but...
Driving
Crossing the street
Crossing the street with stroller and walking kids
Checking out at store
I somehow do not believe that cell phone talking along with these activities makes much sense!!
Yet, I see these activities co -existing many, many times each day here in the NYC metro area!!

Yes! So many of my friends can't go 5 seconds without checking their messages! And it's like cell phones take priority over people with you. I just want to scream, "Hey! Am I not interesting enough for you?"
