I know this seems impossible to believe, but Sadam still has tremendous support in Iraq, reason?..Because when he was in power, he kept order!..Never mind that he was a murderous despot, in the middle east this is perfectly normal!..Check out those ruling in other middle eastern country's, and see ir their any different to Sadam!..Sadam was what was known as a 'strong man'!..He slaughtered all opposition, quite normal mid. east behaviour..But he kept order..And that's what matters over there!..Now, there is no order, there is chaos, They WILL hang him, but this is only his enemy's getting their revenge, again perfectly normal mid east behaviour!..This will all degenerate into full on civil war between both religious and political factions!..It always does over there!..Of course the Americans will get the blame,{as usual}, Iran will step in to support their faction and the whole mess will go on and on, until another 'strong man' pops up out of the pack and rules in the same manner as Sadam did!..So you see, its all very simple, isn't it?...Hmmmmm!..

We would have 3000 soldiers alive and there would have been no war in Iraq if we had left him in power. Our war with the 9/11 terrorist in Afghanistan would be finished. Bush would not have been elected for a second term. How will we benefit from the execution of Saddam??? Was our invasion of Iraq based on false information??? Who should pay for that???~

renee what has Saddam done to you and your family that make you so hateful and curse him?

He needs a fair trial, do you think he killed the rebellion out of nothing? Just like Bush, he wanted to protect the system and the people in general. If he had allowed opposers reign, I can imagine there would be no Iraq by now. Just what has happened now, after Bush mess with it? We must always find ways to answer the WHYs questions in our daily decisions making. Be serious in living.

The Shi'ites will be happy, the Sunnis won't. The Kurds will be KIND OF happy - they still want to see him convicted of genocide against them. But overall, they will be more happy than not.

So I think it will be a good thing. It will show that Iraq will NEVER go back to the days of Sadaam, and that should help to unify the country, and even cause Sadaam's supporters to reconsider their whack views.

bad because i do not believe in the death penalty. if the iraquis want to hang him, it is their decision. i think it would be better if he could go to some prison in china or something. not where he is having wonderful food and exercise and all the stuff he wants like books, paper and pen to write his crap. more like a 3X4 foot cell and food only fit for the pigs shoved through a slot. heaven forbid we give him a ticket to martyrdom.

i think it would be better if he could get life in prison in a maximum security prison on american soil. That way no one could break him out, so he will spend the rest of his life in jail. Death is just the easy way out IMO.
