umm... I forgot to say (well I am saying it now) that this was a question in an essay writing contest held in our school. So, you may want to answer in your own opinions, in an essay form.

Some say "ignorance is bliss." Meaning that you can be at peace if you're not aware of all the troubles in the world. Just like in a child's innocence, it could be said that the ignorant person doesn't know that there's even a question, much less what the answer might be.

Ignorance is also the root of fear. When someone is drenched in ignorance and becomes aware of some previously unknown thing, our biological fight or flight instincts are triggered.

That should be enough to get you started with a good essay.

Absolute Being may be, very possibly, that which we are ignorant of. Our ignorance is excessive – it is far more extensive than our knowledge. This is unquestionable. After we have fixed, then, the meaning, the conditions, the limits, the object, and the capabilities of knowledge, it still seems quite possible, indeed highly probable, that absolute existence may escape us, by throwing itself under the cover, or within the pale, of our ignorance.

An Arabian proverb says that there are four kinds of men:

Those who don't know and don't know that they don't know. Those who don't know and know that they don't know. Those that know but don't know that they know and those that know and know that they know.

You pick.
