Aldi is cheaper than the biggest supermarketchain (Albert Heijn), but not as cheap as Dirk van der Broek. Nettorama and Hoogvliet are the cheapest in the Netherlands, but as far as I know, they are not in Amsterdam.
If you use the postal code you can find the Aldi in your neighbourhood (http://www.aldi.nl/) (or fill in Amsterdam at "plaats" (city) The Dirk van der Broek is to be found at (http://www.lekkerdoen.nl/index.php?page=4)

I live in Amsterdam and never saw an Aldi. Food is very affordable here and I suggest the supermarket chain Albert Hein. If you prefer Aldi, you would have to travel to Germany.

There's a big Albert Heijn in Amsterdam but not very cheap, I don't think it's cheaper then USA.
If you find a Aldi, yes that's cheap and good quality.

Yes, there a few, for streets look at the link below. This link will give you other supermarkets as well. Dirk van den Broek is a very cheap supermarket as well, there are much more of them.
