I guess it depends on what you consider "goth".
Are cliches (black clothes etc.) enough for you or do you want to really learn more about the goth (sub)culture/movement?

OK heres wut you do... you go up to thoses kids in the mall or at school and ask them where they got there eye makeup. they will say "HotTopic", you will then proceed to this "HotTopic" to get some of this mysterious "Eyeliner" and find out that none of the clothes in there have the label "GOTH" on them at which point you will understand that HotTopic sucks then you will proceed to the foodcourt and realize your money is better spent on that $50 slice of pizza and go home happily ever after
(but in all seriousness give up wanting to be a goth. a true goth would never accept you as a goth and would laugh till they soiled themselves if you asked them a question like this. no questions are bad and im not trying to make you feel dumb but the goth you want is a cosmetic look not a mindset like true goth. you also need to be aware that the term goth in most cases is used toward a kid who is more along the lines of "Emo" if you want to learn more about goth emo or anything else take the approach of going to wikipedia. i hope i answere your question. there is no way of "becoming goth"

Ok One get rid of the lame PINK COWBOY HAT seriously. Being goth means keeping a certain mood all the time, most goths are quiet and keep to themselves except for a few close friends. I wear all balck most of the time and I dont consider myself goth, so thats not the answer. If you have to ask how to do it, its just not how your supposed to be, but if you want to learn so baddly just look at the people in your high school, Im sure youll see a few around, just look at what they are wearing. You can have fun with it, buy some safety pins and a trench coat with straps lol.

Goth is more a lifestyle or outlook on life than anything. They tend to accept that there are bad things as well as good things in life, rather than 'sweep them under the rug', to say, and pretend they don't exist. They can dress however they want, although many prefer darker colors and more dramatic clothes and makeup, and listen to lots of songs and varied genres of music, which can include but are by no means limited to, new wave, darkwave, ethereal, Celtic, goth rock, punk, postpunk, chants, heavy metal, industrial, Latin, et cetera. Not all are interested in vampires - in fact, relatively few are. Many if not most have good relationships with their parents. Very few have mental or psychological problems. Most are actually quite nice, if a bit saturnine. Very, very, very few are 'satanists' or 'devil worsippers'. Most of the young teenagers who listen to Marilyn Manson, Disturbed, Slipknot, Korn, My Chemical Romance, Drowning Pool, et cetera and wear heavy thick makeup and studded spike collars and bracelets are called 'Mall goths', shop mostly at Hot Topic, and - this is important - they're not real goths. They just seem to think they are. They act disturbed and surly and try to impress/intimidate people. It seldom works, as most are obviously pathetic, and almost all will (thankfully) grow out of it. First of all, if you want to be goth then it's call a poser. Second, you will become a goth on your own. As in, you will slowly become one without noticing it.

Do all your shopping at 'hot topic' Paint your face white and highlight your lips and eyes with black makeup and act like a moody dork... that should just about cover it.

well i would tel u not to but u go for it girl. they do some weird stuff. u wear blak clothes, act weird, paint ur face white and wear blak make up.
