I bought the Descent (Full Screen Edition) at Best Buy today 12/28
but was wondering if I could exchange it for the Widescreen Edition?
It's only been played once on my DVD Player
and is not scratched what so ever..?
What do I tell them, and is there any hope I can exchange it?

If I can, do I need the plastic (which I have still)
and I do have the recipt.

I don't know if they will return it or not...I work at Wal-Mart and the policy on opened electronics merchandise is pretty strict. It has to be defective and can only be returned for the same title. Maybe you'd be better off finding someone who wanted it in full screen and asking them to buy it in widescreen and swap with them.

I wish they would go back to putting both versions in one package.

I'm a Electronics Specialist at Target , so I'm not postive on how it works at Best Buy....but most stores will not allow you to return a movie for another movie , it must be an equal exchange once the item is open. However since it's the same movie in a different format , they may allow it. It depends on how liberal the store is with returns. I've NEVER seen this happen , but I would explain , and possibly they'd allow the switch. But with the way today's retail stores are, I doubt it.

I know that sounds alittle confusing. But I've never seen this happen.

I noticed that the full screen version is one minute shorter than the widescreen version (which I have). The ending on the widescreen version is different from the one shown in U.S. theaters. It is the U.K. ending. The widescreen version, called "Original Unrated Cut" does not have the complete movie with both endings. It does compare them in the bonus feature "DescENDING".

If you liked the movie as much as I did,..and if the full screen version has the U.S. ending,..it might be worth it to keep both versions (Best Buy where I am sold the widescreen version for $16.99).

You can try. And just tell them you bought the wrong version. They may not let you however since it has been opened. A lot of places wont let you return movies once the plastic has been removed. Its worth a shot tho. Make sure to take your receipt.

As long as you have the recipt , they will exchange it, good luck.
