haha...i don't know the answer to this but my cat always barfs on the carpet or something like that, too.

Maybe they like having something to grip with their feet when they're heaving. Mine occasionally spit up on the linoleum (most of the house is uncarpeted) but given a choice they do seem to prefer the rug or bathmat.

I know my cats vomit on my carpet as well. What works well for me is to use M30 stain remover. I get it at the Dollar General Store and its on 1.00 and it gets out the vomit stains really good. The web site( its on the package) www.m30.com.

My cat only hurls on clean newspaper... I'm just lucky I guess, except for those times when I haven't read the paper yet... but those are rare.
