I am 38 years old and have been trying for 5 months to get pregnant with no luck. I went to the gynecologist for a follicle stimulating hormone blood test and she said that mine was 22.9. Well needless to say I was just devasted. I was told that I probably would not get pregnant. After crying all day I figured I would ask if anyone has ever had this problem?

I would much rather adopt. That's just me. I'm sorry for the sad news, and if you believe in God or miracles here is the time to pray. Perhaps one day you will have a beautiful baby girl or boy. Good luck~

Ever watch TLC and show like that....They had a women and her hubby on there, who were told they'd never have children so they thought never crossed there mind that it would happen! Then years and years and years later she at 54 years of age had given birth to a healthy baby girl....they never knew she was preggy till she was 6 months.....Anyways the point of the story is for one get your mind off of the whole baby idea and two...faith brings miracles and miracles bring happiness to life! I wouldn't say it would happen, but you never know if you are going to or not.....

Sorry to hear about this and I wish you the best....and maybe you shuld try to adopt a few babies....they're not all that costly everywhere...some where you can find a good price!

I'm 37, been trying for 3 1/2 years, and we had an adoption worker over this morning. We haven't given up our dream of a biological child, but if it doesn't happen naturally (I don't believe in fertility treatments for religious reasons) that doesn't mean we don't want to be parents. We're going to try for older kids though the foster care system. Not nearly as many fees involved.

Well, it IS getting pretty close to the time when Nature will shut down the ovaries, anyway.

The good news is that there is a whole lot more to do than have and raise children; there is literally a world of things to do that have meaning and value.

I'm post-menopausal, myself, and very glad of it. I'm sure you'll find a lot to like about it, too; clean underwear is just the start! Cheer up!

First, let me just say I'm so sorry that that happened. That must have been terrible. If there was a way to send out an internet hug, I'd be sending one right now! Hang in there! But now, let me ask you this........is adoption totally not an option? There are so many babies that need mommies out there! I can totally understand wanting to carry the baby yourself but is it worth all this pain? A baby you adopt will be just as much yours as one you would've carried. Please consider it because there is a baby somewhere who really needs a good mom like you!

well i guess it kind of sucks because u wont be able to have the blessing of a beautiful child. On the other hand, you can always adopt and make another childs dream come true. Also you can always have fun without the thought of having a child. it can get pretty scary.

at that age i'd be looking into adoption, the closer you get to 40 the more likely it is that if you did get pregnant the baby could have down syndrome, and around 40 is when older women go into menopause

I would go to a natural food store and have them help you. Sometimes these things are simply a deficiency. Try to be happy and don't drink caffine. Caffine does affect your fertility.
