ok really stupid question.?

ok so for christmas my sisters boyfriend got me a game for my brothers PS2 and its called midnight street something or another but ive never played this game before ive only played need for speed underground 2 so my question is how do i get really good at racing but my brother only lets me play only 20 mins a day?

My advice would be just keep on playing because thats how you will get good. In a matter of time you can beat your brother. I had the same trouble but soon i got good at racing games.

first of everything,this is not "stupid question" this is a normal question as u don't play enough.
now to be a good racer,
1-watch out for the road"turne left,turne right and how much to turne the car",dont get off the road or ur speed may decrease stay in the main road,watch out for cars crossing the road they may hit u,u may drive in the wrong lan but watch out for comming cars.
2-use shortcut roads,u can use them.they will take less time and will make a distance between u and ur opponents."look at the map u will find them straight or less curved' and if u didnt use them in 1st lap,so mark the place or look in the map to use them in the next laps.
3-usually look for ur car upgread parts such as car body"improves the look",performance parts"engin,N2O(nitrus),handbreaks,transmission and other performance part"they will will increase the speed of the car and make better handbreaks.(u have to do that because in career mode because each race u win,opponents be faster next race so u should make ur car faster)
4-look for cars that are unlocked:if u play a career mode,more cars are available as u make progress in career mode.take the faster cars,apply the upgreades in (3) and u will get a faster car more than ur previous one with upgreades.
5-bake to the road:in small curves(in which u can see the road curve)don't slow down stay speeding but control the car well.BUT in sharp curves use car handbreak with turning in the curve direction(dont use handbreaks until the speed decrease too much,just a very little)this will make a power slide,once the car passed the curve press acceleration and contiue.*or if u get need for speed most wanted,use the speedbreaker(will slow the game untill u passes the hard curve then stop the speedbreacker by pressinng the button that activate it,and u can accelerate while speedbreaker is active)
6-use N2O or nitrus in almost straight road parts not in curves as u will hit in road sides.
