If y'all must argue I guess i will have to solve the problem.----You see, in the beginning there were two freight lines, ok. The first freight line was named Roadway,. Ever heard of them ?? road way trucks were all painted orange, ok Can you see where we are going with this ?? The other company was called yellow transportation and they merged to become yellow roadway.and then just yellow freight. No need to repaint the trucks. Their official name is YRC Worldwide.

yellow freight is just a name like "JB HUNT" or any other trucking companies. They paint their trucks orange to make them more visible on the roadways and in the loading yards. If you see an orange truck going down the road, don't it attract your attention. More attention they get the better advertisement they get.. Its all a advertisement gimmick.. not to mention a safety item.

Here is the CORRECT answer!
The company is named "Yellow Freight" because its founder, A J Harrell, began "Yellow Taxi" in 1924. Two years later, in 1926, he also began transporting freight under the title "Yellow Transit" which evolved into the company it is today.
Their trucks are painted Orange because they commissioned DuPont to develop a color, that for safety reasons, would be the most visible from the greatest distance possible. The color submitted by DuPont was named "Swamp Holly Orange" and was adopted by Yellow Freight, Inc. as their corporate vehicle color.

When a guy that working for Yellow Frieght came in to my school for career day, we asked the same question and he said Yellow Cab had the color and the name first so it would cause some problems if they used to color too.

Hey numbnut, your question is stupid in itself. How are "yellow" freight trucks painted "orange" if you just claimed they are "yellow"?
