it was a rumor. i saw it too. it showed on wikipedia before saying he died december 27 and they suspected it as a heart attack and the cops were investigating it. but a few hours later i checked and the section about "Death" had been removed. so yeah someone was playing around.

I think you're thinking of Big Pun. According to imdb.com, Fat Joe is still alive and well and they had a death date for Steve Irwin within a couple of hours.
