Being a European , my friends and I, have all noticed that american toilets are not that private. Is this a safety issue?? We can only guess as this is not evident in Europe. If you know please let us know

It's a cost issue. The less material they have to use, the cheaper the construction is. I've casually tried to look through the cracks and didn't get to see anybody's privates. Of course a pervert could spy on users, but we expect that to not happen.

*So people can spy on you while you take a ****.
*So you can queer up in fear on the toilet seat because America hates you.
*I don't mind cause if someone spys on me on the John I would finish up and go kick their ***.
*It probably IS a safety issue.
*Maybe it's cause we're too lazy (being Americans) to lean down to peak and see if anyone's in the stall.

people should have the respect not to look in unless you are a perv. I haven't noticed because I don't stay long in there. If they want to see me using the toilet, be my guest.
