I'm holding my 6 month old daughter as I'm reading this. I was curious so I flipped her over and felt her bottom, and I can definitely feel her tail bone, but nothing that moves. Does she cry when you touch it? It may be broken which would be very painful, I think you would know. Otherwise, the skin over top of the tail bone can give the impression of something moving when really its not. Make an appointment just to be sure, I always say better safe than sorry!

Hon, it may be nothing, but take it from a Mom, if you question then it's worth finding out about it. We mothers usually have a feel for these things. Take the baby to her doctor. If you don't have one or can't afford one then go to your county health department. There are usually nurses there that can screen the baby and if there is cause for concern they can steer you in the right direction and can usually help with cost or know of programs that can.

Yes ask the doctor. When my son was a baby I had a ton of questions like this for his doctor. At most pediatricians you can call and ask the nurse and they will tell you if you need to come in. I did this all the time.

You should for sure have it checked by the doctor. It may just be a fatty or calcium deposit. How long has she had this ? Does it go away ? Does it hurt her when you touch it ? Have her checked.
