Here's the deal. I have a laptop and it keeps having these crazy problems and I have no idea where there are coming from. Possibly viruses I am guessing.

Anyway, I hope someone knows a bit about techincal problems like this. I was on my computer the other day and it started making loud clicking sounds and then froze. I hard shut it down, then i started it back up. The intro screen comes on but when it gets to the Windows start up screen there's nothing, it's completely black. I attempted to reboot the entire system and restore windows but when I do the black screen comes up, it saysit is connecting, and finally i get a message that says "Operating system not found." There's no disk that came with the laptop and I'm trying to not go back to the tech but I will if I have no other choice. Anyone have any tips I'd really appreciate it.

loud clicking noises are the telltale sign of a dead or dieing hard drive.

Hope you have everything backed-up because its time to buy a new one.

I suggest that you try to carryout system restore to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html
The problem is likely to be solved. Then,You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at
http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html

This sounds like a dead or damaged hard disk, I'm afraid to say. This means a new hard disk and a software rebuild. Good luck.

It seems your Windows' files are corrupt or have been deleted somehow. You probably need to purchase the Operating System seperately

this happened to me, did the computer say before it shut down "Windows is shutting down to prevent errors or damage" the boot order of the C: drive got changed or your whole boot order. Adjust them by pressing F1 or F2 or F8 depending on your computer and find boot order. Its a simple fix

I am just going to say it. You got the worst virus on the net. It is a virus that download itself into your computer and then slowly eats away at your computer. A friend of mine got it and they had to have their processor replaced. Try everything thought before you consider this.
