You don't have to ask her, you can get BC from Planned Parenthood without her, or in some cases from your family doctor. Are you old enough to be having sex? Are you with a partner that is safe? Have you both been tested?
You could try just asking her with words :) If you know your mom well you know how she will react, but if you have thought about the above questions first you are more likely to get a positive reaction. If you tell her you would both like to be tested and safe, and you would like to be able to come to her with these kinds of things and have an open and trusting relationship then she will more likely be open to hearing you.
Stay calm, no matter what her reaction is. Even if she freaks. Stay more mature than she is. Trust me, it works in your favor.

Just ask. If you have a mom who will freak out think about how she would be if you told her you were pregnant...
I really can't help you too much in this department because When I was a teen I got my own birth control. (We weren't allowed to discuss things of a "sexual nature" in our home) When my daughter became a teen I told her that if she felt she needed to go on the pill just to come and tell me and I'd take her to the doctor.

There are other thing that can be taken if its a problem with periods. Intercourse is for between husband and wife and to then have children. Are you ready to become a mother birth controll accidents aren't that uncommon. Are you ready for the chance of some sexually transmitted disease...herpies..aids? You are going to be having sex..if that is what the pills are for...with everyone that he has had sex with for some time back. You may think he doesn't have any thing.....but what makes you so sure...because you don't want to ask or bring up the subject? If you do go ahead and have sex ...will it make you wonder . Even married women who have not cheated have ended up getting aids from their husbands. I am only trying to make you think. There are many reasons that a man and woman give wedding vows before God and each other.....

I think if you approach it from the right angle your Mom would be happy that you are being responsible enough to get the pill. It may also factor on how old you are? Are u 16? If you are you can go to the doctors and consult them and get some paper work on the pill etc before you discuss it for real with your parents. If you have a good relationship with your Mom then I would sit her down and tell her what you want to do.

Tell her you have a lot of cramps and heard that birth control helps with it. Or say you want your periods to be more predictable so you don't have any embarrasing moments in swim class.
It annoys me that everyone rants and raves about teen pregnancy on this sight, and when one is actually being responsible and getting on birth control they put her down.

Good luck with mom not freaking out. If my daughter came to my wife and asked about getting birth control, she would tell me and my wife and I both would be asking our daughter, why she feels that she needs birth control. Because we will be teaching our kids abstinance. We are going to teach them to wait till they are married to have sex. Like God intended it to be.

Not possible I'm afraid.
Points to you for having the wits about you to get protection, but she is still going to freak out to find that her teen is sexually active.

explain to her that you're being a very responsible person by wanting to prevent unwanted pregnancy (which you are).
or, as the other girl said, you can say you want lighter and more predictable periods, with less pms symptoms..
