One of my friends recently took a pregnancy test. Now, it says if two lines shows up you are pregnant, if only one, you aren't. Now, two lines showed up, but one was extremely faint. What does this mean?

Yup, she is. It doesn't matter how faint the second line is, if it's there she is. I phoned the company when I took a test and that same thing happened to me. That is what they told me and I had a daughter 9 months later.

As long as both lines showed up within 10 minutes the test is positive. Also, the faint line should be reasonably visible--you shouldn't have to hold it a certain way in the light just to see it. She should test again in a few days.

if two lines showed up WITH IN the test time, then no matter how faint, you can assume that your friend is pregnant.

Well if the 2nd line was faint, it could be that the test is picking up slightly HCG, she may want to wait a week or too and then retake.

I would recommend taking another home test and going to a doctor to have a blood test taken to really be sure.
