I have a few pairs of nice flat Ballerina type shoes, and they are all so painful! They rub on the back of my heels and on my toes. I have tried blister plasters but they don't really help. What can I do to break them in? Heels seem much easier to wear as they don't rub on the back, but I like to wear flats as I'm quite tall.

Thanks for some great suggestions so far! They are a half size bigger already though, any bigger and they wouldnt stay on right. and they hurt at the toes cuz they are pointy! I do wear heels fairly often but I just don't want to be in them all the time, it's bad for the leg muscles!

Wear the heels.
Elle MacPherson 6ft 1, wears heels
Zoe Ball 5ft 11, wears heels
Nicole Kidman, 6ft, wears heels
As a tall girl you are going to stand out in a crowd so raise your head high, stick out your bust, wiggle your bum and walk tall on your heels. Be proud of who you are and enjoy the attention.
And if your shoes rub either they are the wrong size or they are a bad design. Fashion should not have to be crippling. If you really do have problems with rubbing shoes you can use surgical spirt to toughen up the skin on the back of the heel but it doesn't look so nice in sandals in summer.

I have this trouble... because my feet are really slim shoes slip of and rub... i got a pair of skinny jeans and stuck them downt he back... for a little while when wearing the shoes as it helped to break the shoes in without giving me the blisters and now they seem to fit more snuggly. As for the toes hurting try a wider shoe.

I had the same problem. The only thing that worked were bandaids and buying bigger sizes, even if they weren't my normal size and they felt a little bit too big. I did a 1/2 size bigger. To the ones I already had I found some kind of a way to kinda "carve" the back so that it didn't bend inwards. Yes, scissors, knife, carve.

They have these wonderful strips of flexible gel, like Dr. Scholls, but for the back of the heels, but the toe problem, I suggest you get new flats. Help the economy. The strips you can find at Nordstrom, I think. I don't know where my mom gets them

If you know someone who has a broader foot than you but you are the same size ask them to wear your shoes for a couple of hours just to break them in! X

if they are rubbing on your heels AND your toes, then you are buying the wrong size. The next time you buy shoes try a size up or try wide shoes

Heyy. What you can do is put a piece or fabric or some sorta of material on the back. I definitley know how painful they are ;-). You could also put a bandaid on the back of your heal.
Hope your problem is resolved.
