Dose any one here bite there nails like all day bite them way to much tell they hurt or all all gone?

Dose any one here feel they bite there nails way to much or just don't stop or cant.

My friend bits her nails tell they bleed and there are no nails left but dose not stop who else is like this ?

also a silly question but dose any one pick or bite there toe nails so they look like that are no nails left is this normal?

Hi, I do bite my nails all day. Like if I am not eating or drinking or keeping myself busy, I bite, bite, bite. Until the point where it hurts and I can't bite any further. Sometimes they do bleed a little. I just can't stop unless I get my nails done, then that stops me, but I just can't afford it.

yes to the toe nails and best way to stop biting nails is go get acrylics done the nails are too tough to bite and they grow underneath.... plus u tend to bite ur cuticles instead but at the end of the day u get beautiful nails within 2 months and no effort.....

Hey. Yeah, I bite my nails all the time...can't stop and it looks horrible. I bite the skin around my nails and on my lips too, apparently people who do it are considered to be in a sub group of OCD sufferes...I'm doing it right now!!

The Clinical name for nail biting is chronic onychophagia. I have known people who do both, and other similar things. It could be classed as a compulsive or obsessive disorder if they cannot stop, or it could just be a bad habit.
If you friend is worried about this, they should speak to their doctor.

Nail biting is a compulsive thing. Maybe she could try to get hypnotised (sp)

ive heard of people using something you apply to the fingernails to discourage nail biting.. tastes god awful.
