I read somewhere that he is going to participate in a very limited way.

It is important to note:
NBC's "New Year's Eve With Carson Daly" and ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve" are two different shows.
Last year, Ryan Seacrest took over the ABC show from Dick Clark and did much of the broadcast. The same thing will happen again this year.
Meanwhile, NBC has launched a competing broadcast featuring Carson Daly. Both are fighting to be in the top of the ratings.
As for how much of a role Dick Clark plays in his own show... time will tell.

Poor Dick Clark.. I heard from good source that he along with someone else is going to do it with him being the main person.. It is told that he will be better by that time to do it... Poor guy !!!
