It doen't last too long. i don't have oily or dry skin. I need my make up to last for over 12 hours. I wear loose powder (shiny skin in some places), blush, lipgloss and a little mascara.

Use Jane Iredale - it's mineral makeup and they have a pressed base option which is so handy. I can wear that on the hottest days and still look fresh. I tend to have oily skin and this helps a lot. Also, it looks natural (not shiny or metallic). It cuts down on the redness if you have any. I am a light beige and wear the Satin color. I use two compacts a year and it costs me about $96 annually which is not bad. I find it far superior to BE.

my friend uses a thin layer of hairspray over her entire face and she is a dancer so it tends to work while wearing heavy stage makeup...
but for eyeshadows, use a wet brush and put some of your powder base foundation on your eyes and let it dry, then apply your usual base and then foundation.

It helps to use moisturizer before you apply make-up so it acts as a base. And the shine? Perhaps blotting sheets would work?
