Not as much as the New York media. Yes A-Rod gets booed at Yankee games. But he also gets standing ovations. It's the NY media, especially FAN radio, that attack him every second of the season. Most of the attacks are way off mark and seems to be malicious in attempt because A-Rod makes so much money and is an easy target because of that. In 2006, he failed time and time again in the clutch, yet I would rather have him on the team than almost any other player in baseball.

Yankee fans are a brutal bunch. The media there is even worse. They boo you when you're down, and cheer for you on a good day. They're supposed to have the best fans in the game (some say), but when a player doesn't give them what they're wanting the fans/media is ready to go for the jugular. Think about Roger Maris. Some similarities perhaps?

They were fair to him, they go to the games to see the 250 million dollar man bring them a championship. They put up with 1 bad playoff series, then after then 2nd bad playoff series his game went downhill, and after the third bad playoff series they want him gone. Now, i would love to see A-rod succeed as a Yankee but he is not built for New York, he's built for a small town. I know usually you can't blame one player for everything, and in the playoffs it was a team effort that lost not just A-rod, Sheffield had no business playing first, and Melky should have been in left from the start but those are to blame on Torre. Some regular season games however you could blame a few losses on A-rod, a game in Toronto in particular.

Not at all. When you make $25M a year you should be putting up MVP numbers every season. There are a lot of guys who had the same kind of season A-Rod had last year and made a lot less money. It's the pressure of playing in New York. Some can handle it and some can't. A-Rod can't.

The NY fans expect a lot out of the athletes that represent the city. Alex came to the Yankees with a lot of hype and expectations. His record salary didn't help the situation. NY fans booed Mantle, DiMaggio, Berra etc. They haven't been unfair to Rodriguez. When he starts to produce the fans will adore him but not to the extent that they love the captain.

I don't think so. I'm sorry... I'm a Yankee fan, but he is not doing what the Yankees are paying for. I mean 250 Million dollars! just for someone that had a more worst than Justin Morneau who has been in the big leagues for just 3 years and already MVP. I think he just want to be in the Yankees because he gets paid a lot.

Absolutly, he has put up wonderful numbers.
If you say he isnt clutch, how does he lead the team in RBI's year in and year out?
I look at it this way: If a twenty-year-old rookie put up A-Rod's numbers, he would be unbelievable, so what's the difference if A-Rod puts up those numbers? To me, it doesn't make sense. Mel Stottlemyer never won a World Series as a player with the Yankees, neither did Don Mattingly, but fans loved them, why do they hate A-Rod so much who, I'll be bold and say it, is better than Don Mattingly?

From what I hear, Yankees fans either love or hate players, and maybe A-rod is one they hate. Some cities seem to be harder on players than others, and the media tends to focus on the east coast more than the midwest. I haven't watched them a lot, so they might be a bit hard on him.

Yes. They've expected too much out of him. He's actually been playing excellent but nobody has noticed it just because be's A-Rod.
