The past 2 days i have had really bad indigestion, i got it last night when i was sleeping and had it all day today (i have just taken some gaviscon and to my shock you can take it whilst pregant and breastfeeding) that will be my godsend for the rest of the months i am pregnant i think... but i was just wondering why am i getting this i rarely got it before i was pregnant and all off a sudden...part of me thinks it is also too early for this to happen to me am i wrong?

Also anyone know any really good websites for pregnant women between 6-7 weeks pregnant i have searched for some but have not come up with much info as to what is happening to my body and baby.

A great website is Babycenter.com it sends you weekly emails to let you know what you might expect and what to expect at your drs visits. It helped me thru 2 pregnancies...also whats great about this site is after the baby is born..they will start sending you emails ever month about your babys growth and when they might start crawling and such...
Also I had MAJOR indigestion with my 2nd child..not my first...it was basically driving me nuts....it is due to an increase in the hormone progesterone and an ever-growing uterus taking up space and cramping the stomach. Eliminating some foods from your diet and changing the way you eat will help to keep it under control. Eat five to six small meals a day instead of three big meals. Take small bites, and chew your food well.. Rich, fatty foods and those that are spicy will increase the symptoms, as will carbonated drinks and any kind of coffee. Stay away from chocolate and citrus, too *unless you are craving..never deprive your body of what you crave* Drink very little during meals. Don't overextend your stomach with liquids at meals..Chew nonpeppermint gum. Some studies show that chewing gum will decrease the discomfort of indigestion..Sleep at a slight incline. Prop yourself up on a few pillows to keep your stomach acids below your diaphragm. Wait for at least an hour after eating before lying down. My dr told me to put something hard under my mattress to elevate it...not pillows cus they smoosh down..i just got a piece of hard foam cut it at a slant...made sure it fit my mattress..and put it under..it worked great! Good luck on the pregnancy and I hope I helped you out!

You will experience all kinds of things during your pregnancy. No, I dont think it is too soon to have heartburn, this is about when it starts, including morning sickness,(some lucky people do not have it) It is generally caused from your body adjusting to the pregnancy hormones. It may or may not subside.FOR ME, THE 4TH-6TH month was easiest.I will tell you where I got my very best info. It is a book called," What to Expect When you are Expecting" it will tell you ANYTHING you could EVER want to know, it has Q&A 's, growth charts, and every thing. I used it with both my pregnancies.I would call it the pregnancy bible. You should be able to find it in the baby section at Wal- Mart.Good luck, I hope you will have HEALTHY and happy baby.

Ahhhh I can see why people ask this question....its the same as people being confused about urinating frequently in early pregnancy because everyone associates this and heartburn with the final three months when the baby is pressing on eveything!! I have been told that Heartburn occurs early in pregnancy due to hormonal fluctuations!!! I am 5 and a half weeks and am also suffering from Heartburn!! Got two children already and didnt have it with them until I was in my final stages but all pregnancies are different i guess. Goodluck!!

I don't really know any good website except for Babycenter.com, but I do know that my OB/GYN told me that it could possibly be caused by the baby already taking upsoo much room in the womb that your stomach doesn't expand as much as it used to, therefore stomach acids churn up and that's where the heartburn side of things comes into play. I have had 3 children, AND tried everything. I have YET to find a sure fire way to keep it from happening. Drinking a glass of milk before laying down is suppose to help, but it never took the ailment away from me. Maybe it will help you!

Heartburn can come at any time. I had it from day one with my 3rd and 4th children, but not my first 2. As far as a good website. Call your doc and ask them if they can suggest a good one. Or buy the book, Pregnancy and baby's first year. Its a great book that guides you thru your pregnancy. Also, State farm insurance offices used to have a form you could fill out, and they would mail you a book called Mayo's encyclopedia of pregnancy and babys first year. Its a HUGE book that gets into details, the pregnancy, illnesses, heartburn, developmental stages during and after pregnancy. its really great to have. i still use it to this day when I am not sure bout something.

For information, I recommend storknet.com & for fun - www.celebrity-babies.com....
Indigestion is so unfun! I didn't know what it was until this pregnancy... (#3!)... Ick! Gaviscon is a lifesaver, my midwife recommended that as well - From what I hear (old wives tale) indigestion is from the baby's hair growing - so look on the bright side, you might not have a baldy baby!!! :)

The pregnancy hormones slow down your digestive system. It's not too early for this to happen, it's common throughout pregnancy and shouldn't be a cause for concern.
