I have two great friends, but lately they both call me JUST to talk about their problems and only their problems. I just had surgery and have been doing a lot of resting and they both call me first thing in the morning and wake me up (though I've asked them not to) just so they can talk about their problems. And EVERY day they ask me the same exact questions about the guys they're trying to date and I always tell them the same exact thing. I feel like a broken record. I know I'm supposed to be a good friend and listen, but I'm trying to recover from a major surgery and I'm tired enough as it is and they just don't leave me alone. They ask how I'm feeling for 30 seconds and then proceed to talk about their guy problems. How do I tell them I don't want to talk about their guy issues every single day?

They don't sound like your friends they sound self-absorbed.
Turn your phone ringer off until you get good and ready to talk for the day and if they do call and start the "guy thing" just say "hey I really feel bad, gotta go, bye!

You can go about it in a few ways.
One being bluntly tell them what you just said here.
Two being you can ignore their phone calls in the am. (just power off your phone)
Three you can tell them you have to go to rest when they bring up the topic for the gazillionth time. This is probably the best option. If they call you and try to talk about it every day and every day you tell them you have to go it should sink in how inconsiderate they're being.

Girl what you gone have to do unfortunately is just be honest with them even though it my hurt their feeling but if you want to change your everyday subject them you got to tell them both and possible at the same time that way you only have to say it once. And just maybe the two of them will realize it together.

I have to agre with Benny. Just tell them tha you are recovering and really don't want to heard about their drama. Or just stop picking up your phone. Sooner or later they will get the hint, and if they come by and ask why you are not picking up, then kindly tell them. Hope you get better soon. Take care.

Either tell them up front.....again, or just turn off your cell phone or regular phone. Hope you feel better soon, best of luck to you.
