I have a lot of old record albums (before CDs came out, lol) that I would like to transfer to cds so that I can listen to them in my car. Is there a way to do it or do I just have to go out and buy all those CDs?

My brother was just talking about that the other week. He bought this gaget that hooked his computer and had a program to convert the album to .wav or whatever you want to go onto the cd.

Yes.
You can still purchase CD recorders with some of them having turntables already incorporated into the system to make the transfer from LP to CD easier.
If you already have a turntable, the instruction manual supplied with the CD recorder will give instruction of how to connect your existing equipment to the recorder to transfer LP tracks to CDR or RW.
This link is to a page on Amazon.com that displays several models; some with turntables; some without.

The following link is to a search page on Yahoo that has some very helpful websites.

Keep in touch.
Let me know how it works out.

As long as you have a record player - its easy.

Just connect the audio outs of your record player to the audio ins of your 'puter.

Then record away. Once digitized, you can burn CD's to your hearts content.

Same applies for old Betamax or VHS tapes.

If you have a CD recorder. I have one that is not connected to my computer, it's connected to my stereo. I've made copies of Cassettes and LPs. EBay has a lot of these. You might want to check it out.

You can get a record player with a USB that plugs into your computer, then cut CDs from that.

Yes. You have to get a sound card that can take the output from your stereo system. You'll also need software and a drive that can burn CD's.

You can do it, but you have to go buy something. I don't remember what but go to a computer store and tell them what you want to do.
