I think being accepted means what you said...being treated like everyone else under the same circumstances. For example, Person A is not LGBT; s/he goes to work, gets the job done, talks to people, collects a paycheck, goes home. A person who is LGBT might not get the job even though s/he has the same skills as Person A. Or, people won't trust them or talk to them the same way they might talk to Person A. Or they might go out into the parking lot to find their car has been keyed or air let out of their tires. Even if they don't "advertise" the fact that they're LGBT. All it takes is one narrow-minded person to find out, and the gossip and malice start. A LGBT person can go looking for work where there are other LGBT people, but Person A doesn't have to do that. Person A gets hired and stays hired, and gets through the day based on his/her ability to do the job. That is what LGBT people mean when they say "acceptance." They don't expect people to bow down to them, just let them get through the day like anybody else can.

solid question Kate. the difficulty is, besides the undeniable fact that it variety of sounds like it truly is going to likely be approximately love and the skill to marry whom you pick, the actuality is lots from that. In countries the place gay marriage is permitted, the common marriage lasts in simple terms 18 months, with a huge familiar of adulterous affairs interior that era. under 10% of people who're eligible to marry accomplish that. What does that mean? It skill that it is not, nor grow to be it ever, a controversy of love and/or marriage.

They want to be accepted because they ARE normal people just like everyone else, but there are plenty of people who do not view them that way and deny them equal human rights. They are denied all sorts of basics that we take for granted and are often victimized just because of their sexual orientation. It is not that they wish to be considered special... simply human!!

So badly? Everyone wants to be accepted... that's individually... but when you get large groups together it equates to a measure of power... often dipping into rule setting, law making, politics, etc. So it's not about acceptance it's about power when you're talking about a group or society.

If you weren't accepted for some reason, you'd wanna be too...
Why did blacks want to be accepted so bad? They're normal people too!
THINK about it...
They're not asking to be special, they want to be treated as gd as everyone else.

Yes, true, but most people don't get this fact. If they did, then we wouldn't be asking for the same "treatment" as everyone else.
