I found one on petco that I like--my cats like to go outside, and I've been looking for a harness/leash that isn't too expensive and is easy to use. Would a ferret leash be too small? How big are ferrets around the stomach and neck? Thanks!!

No, a harness for a ferret wouldn't work for a cat. Yes, they make harnesses for cats, but those don't always work for the specific cat's needs. My cat has a small dog harness which works very well for her. I got it at Petsmart, and even it is too big for her...but a kitten harness is too small. LOL But try a cat harness first. They are made specifically for cats; if you find a dog harness you like better, try that.

Ok, so this depends on how big your cat is. Ferrets are significantly smaller then cats, however, most harnesses are adjustable. I have four ferret harnesses. Two of them could be adjusted big enough to fit two of my six cats. When deciding if the harness fits, make sure you can fit your index and middle finger between the harness and the cats skin. This should be done both for the neck and waist. Now if you are looking for an inexpensive harness, I have found that the cat harnesses are typically cheaper then the ferret harness.

A ferret leash for cat? I would think that they would make harnesses specificaly for cats,but...
I don't see why a ferret harness wouldn't work,so long as it fits your cat properly, which depends on the size of your cat.
The Petco's here where I live let you bring your pet in the store so you can try leashes, and collars, and such on your pet before you buy.You could try that,or,measure your cats and take those measurements to the with you.
Hope this helps,bye.

Probably so. What you can do is guestimate the weight of your furry friend and then go to buy a leash/collar or harness set from the pet store based on their particular weight.

Rather than a harness, I would recommend getting a small sized collar and a retractable leash to take her out with.

Hope that helps.

go to walmart and buy a 2 dollar collar and leash for a dog. Same thing, there are so many sizes dont worry about it. And ferrets would never fit a cat unless they were kittens.

Definatly be too small I would say. My ferret harnesses would never have a chance at fitting my cat!

They do make harnesses for cats and kittens!

I used a small dog harness for my bunnies...so as long as the animals are fairly similar in size, they can be used. I bought it at a Wal-mart like store.
