I am a life long Dallas Cowboy fan who lives and dies with the snap of the ball. No, I do not think that he was as good as some of the other QB's in the league. Maybe next year if he takes the Cowboys to the Superbowl then yes. Don't take me wrong I think that he will be a premier QB and do great things. But I think that just because of who he plays for(America's Team) He was made out to be bigger than he really is.

What other non-inuured QB besides Brees is worthy of going?
Favre? please. having a bad year - and not just a bad year for him.
Vick? over-rated (he's got a 75 QB rating and a better chance of making the Pro Bowl as a running back)
Garcia? not enough playing time this year
Grossman? wildly inconsistent with some awful performances
Hasslebeck? apart from shredding Arizona (which I think I could do) he's had some very shaky performances and an injury on his resume for this season.
Manning? not a chance too inconsistent.
Johnson? that 10 QB rating against Chicago kind of killed his chances (as if the 72 rating for the season didn't already kill him).
I guess the basic point is that the "name" QBs in the NFC either are or have been injured (McNabb, Delhomme, Hasslebeck) or have come on in the later part of the season (Romo, Garcia). Romo may not be a long term success in the NFL but he has played well enough this year for enough of the season to deserve to make it to the pro bowl - for the 2006 NFC this isn't saying much, though.

Bulger was selected along with Brees, but no, Romo should not be on the pro bowl roster after not starting until week 8. The crop of QBs in the NFC is weak this season with McNabb and Hasselbeck missing time due to injury, but I would have taken a mediocre Eli Manning, Vick, or even Favre over Romo.

If I had to vote based solely on what they have done this season for the Pro Bowl QB I would put Brees first, Romo second, and Grossman third. The NFC has been so inconsistent (even Grossman has been up and down) that it is really hard to say. Hasselbeck hasn't played the whole season and hasn't looked good since his injury. Bulger hasn't looked spectacular either. Drew Brees is really the only QB in the NFC that I personally believe has been impressive this year (how they have done in past seasons is irrelevant).

Sure , why not...The NFC is fairly devoid of great talent at QB , so who should make it? Farve ,, yea right. Vick...no way, again another losing season for the most over-rated qb in history and no end in site to stop the losing..Romo made a big splash in Dallas and got them into the playoffs when it seemed certain that Bledsoe had ruined it. Sure he is inexperierced which makes an even more compelling reason to vote him in, to do so well with no prior games. Alex Smith...come one...lets look for a team with a winning record here folks... Grossman? No that game with a 1.2 qb rating killed that, he isnt very good and people know it. Manning...again he sucks, cant complete a pass to his tight end. Other than Brees, the rest of the NFC is a toss-up at qb... you really only had about 6 real choices...Romo is popular, he got in.

In a way yes. Obviously he created a spark. I would have to say Grossman put up bigger numbers and is also on a team with the best record in the NFL. Remember the Pro Bowl is a popularity contest in many regards. Merriman....Wow, look at his stats, but also busted for drugs.. Makes you wonder what the public really cares about drugs. Back to Grossman, he also had some crap games right when the voting commenced. The NFC sucks in general so why not Romo. Who would take his place? Maybe Garcia, but he also is in the same situation. Wierd year for the NFC.

That shows how weak the NFC really was at the QB position, Romo had his good games but I would say he had 2 great games, 2 good ones, 3 decent ones and 1 putrid one. He's good but not Pro Bowl material. I actually thought Alex Smith deserved more of a shot at it than him, or even Michael Vick.

As a lifelong Cowboy fan, no, Romo's selection was premature in my opinion. As a matter of fact, Romo hasn't looked too sharp since his selection either. I believe that he has the potential to be a true pro-bowler in theyears to come, but I didn't vote for him. To me his selection is more of a reflection on our present culture. It seems that people get too rapped up in the moment. He gave Dallas a much needed spark and the team came together as a result. But once that initial romance thing is over with, then it's time to see how talented a player really is.

I am not sure that he really does deserve the spot, but it does say quite a bit for the quality of play for the other NFC quarterbacks. With McNabb being hurt now, and Hasselback hurt earlier, and Bulger's team not really playing well, there is not many other options to go. Who else would you send?
