My favorite book is The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold. If you havent read it, you definitely should.
My favorite authors are Anne Rice, William Faulkner, Penny Jordan, and Jane Austen.
Some other near-faves are Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt, Pride and Prejudice and Emma- both by Jane Austen, and The Postcard and The Crossroad-both by Beverly Lewis.

I have a few favorite authors. Donald Westlake, Elmore Leonard, Tony Hillerman, Janet Evanovich, Clive Cussler, Bernard Cornwell and Douglas Adams. Of those, Westlake is my favorite but it is a very tight race.
Other favorites include Robert Asprin, Douglas Preston, and Lawrence Block.
Reccomended reading list: "Drowned Hopes" by Donald Westlake, "Touch" by Elmore Leonard, "Sharpe's Tiger" by Cornwell, "The Codex" by Preston and "The Sinister Pig" by Hillerman
