I think that some of the countires in Africa which have very high birthrates could reduce their poverty by reducing the number of children they have. Even if they don't have access to contraception they could just stop having sex after 1 or 2 children. The men are just as much to blame as the women, maybe even more so because i heard in some cultures men expect sex from women when ever they want. If these attitudes continue how much more overpopulated are some places going to become?

If the poor got richer...then naturally the rich will get poorer, and the rich doesn't want to get poorer....the rich can't get enough.

Let's see, do you think it might have anything to do with the fact that we have been invaded by 12 million poor people working under the tables and collecting every single penny they can while cranking out more unneeded Anchor Babies and exasperating the problem? You can live pretty good as a poor person with free housing, food , health care and free children's benefits and schooling-Especially when you subsidize it with drug sales and illegal undocumented employment!
Do not get me wrong, I hate the invaders, but I reserve my real contempt for the Elected officials who have sold the represented out! I can forgive Bush for the complete idiocy and stupidity of the Arabs-Did anyone really think a people could actually be so damn greedy, barbaric and butt-headed?-But allowing the Mexican Invasion and going so far as to encourage it-No way Jose!

Why Africa? Look at any poor neighborhood in the USA. Minority woman having 5 children, 5 different fathers. In fact, many have so many lovers, they have to go on tv to be tested to find out WHO the father is. One woman had 12 men tested and NONE were the father of her son. Give me a break!
Too many people use skin color as an excuse to live their life very badly.

While most fall into the trap of embracing poverty as an inescapable fate, I admire a handful who make a stand and choose to benefit from the ability of man to elevate his life through conscious endeavor.
