I was just diagnosed with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, yet my doctor(this is a new doctor since my old doctor mysteriously left) told me that Pelvic Inflammatory Disease was listed on my medical history file back in 2004 during an ultrasound. During that ultrasound, my doctor at the time told me that all I had was an ovarian cyst that would dissolve on it's own. Bull****!

If I have had PID since 2004, why wasn't I told about it until today, 2 years later? That just makes me so damn mad to know that now I may have infertility caused by this. If I had known back then, I would've gotten treatment for it then, not waited 2 years later when so much suffering and damage has been done. I was planning on having children within a couple years too. But now I have adhesions, scar tissue. If I were to be able to somehow find the ***** doctor who did not inform me of my correct diagnosis, would I be able to sue her?

What would suing them solve? You have not had PID this entire time...PID is a bacterial infection, and it probably resolved on it's own, not before some significant damage was done however. I don't know why your doctor wouldn't have told you, but it can't be discovered with ultrasound anyway, so I don't know why it would be listed on your paperwork with an US. Because it's a bacterial infection it's usually discovered with a lab test.

I know it's hard, you feel betrayed and you're scared that you won't have children. I was told because of my PID (which was never treated, BTW) that I would be infertile. However, I have seven children, and just found out I'm pregnant again. i couldn't be happier, and when people ask why I want such a big family, I smile and tell them that being told I could never have one pointed out to me how important it was.

I wish you the best of luck in your recovery surgeries. I would ask for a copy of the medical files that say all of this, and take them to another doctor and ask for their opinion. It sounds weird that a new doctor would come in, and suddenly all of this suspicious information is going around (like being dx'ed with PID with ultrasound, that's unusual)

Definetly... Withholding medical information form a patient is pretty much illegal. Although maybe the doc was unaware of the problem due to inexperience. If you find her, bring in the xray, and without a word of what it is, ask her what she sees.....if she says its the PID then have her sign a contract that says she identifies it as PID then present it to court, otherwise, she just may not have known- and then its on u to do better research about the doctors you choose.

Hope that helps, and hope you get well soon

PID does not resolve itself. You maybe able to sue her but honestly, if she mysteriously left, maybe there were other reasons and she won't be found. Ovarian Cysts don't dissolve on their own either. Sorry. Good luck with pregnancies.

just like when i miscarried and had a major infection one doctor was going to send me home However i asked for another doctor to see me and found that the infection was so bad that it was almost in my flopien tubs and had that happend i would have had to have a half a histerictame..

if you can find that PIECE OF sh@t doctor that mis dyignosed you i would and sue the skirt of her. if she has hindered your chances of getting pregnet then you can get her for malishes intent.

You can sue, but that won't help you get pregnant.

Not saying you shouldn't do it though. Just don't expect winning a lawsuit to magically make you feel better about not being able to have children.

i would say YES you could sue her especially if your new doc see's it in your file and you weren't advised to do something about it back when it was first seen
