Why did i hear pirates of the carribean dead mans chest was not that great, and i see many people love it. I personally thought it was just as good as the first one. Which hardly ever happens with sequels.

The cast was great and the basic plot line was really well developed for the most part. But there were some parts that dragged along according to some people and could have been a little better planned out. I think it had to many pun-like scenes that played off the first movie. If you seeing the second without watching the first one first, some of the scenes would have been over looked and not seemed quite as good as those that have seen both. all in all it was a pretty good film. can't wait for the third!

It's not as good as the first because 1.) the first was absolutely great! It couldn't have possibly lived up to that, and 2.) the directors said that hthey only put that out and advertised it so much because they needed people to see it to prepare them for the third movie, and 3.) the first one was easier to believe since there was no eveil sea monsters and what not.

I liked it very much. People just don't because it was darker, grimmer, dirtier, and the story line leaves a lot to be explained. They don't explain why Barbossa's back (though theoretically Tia Dalma went and got him because he was at her house the entire movie). They don't say why Jack went back to the boat, though I've realized why. He saw two futures - dying valiantly in battle with the Kraken... Or wasting away of boredom on an island, not being able to have that open sea anymore. He's not the kind of guy to just die in his sleep. You just know he's going to die in some valiant way. Like Sirius Black, are you mad like I am that he died in a really kind of lame way? Like my sister said, "It was like he drowned in a two foot puddle of mud." Yeah. Very unheroic. But anyway. I digress, and I turned away from the question. They don't like it because it didn't end and it left things unanswered. That's why.

I personally did not like it as much. It just seemed overly commercialized and way too long. I still loved Johnny Depp and am glad i saw the movie, but think the first one is better.

you really should not listen to what others say about a movie. just watch Pirates of the Caribbean 2 and judge for yourself.

whoever told you that is crazy...I LOVE the 2nd movie, even more than the first one!...i am a bit confused, though about where that Lord Beckett guy comes in...its like he's just some random guy that decided to pop into the movie or something, cuz he wasnt in the first one...i dunno...maybe somebody needs to explain it to me...LOL

I liked it BETTER then the first one!
I adore the new character of Tia Dalma!
I don't know how good the third one will be though, as I think it won't have much Depp in it and that will suck!

I love pirates 2 it is genius. the only thing i saw that i thought was wierd was the last part where barbossa came back I thought he was dead.....?>?/?
