Hayabusa is the fastest motorcycle in production today.

World Record from Guiness: "On July 14, 1990, Dave Campos (USA) set American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) and Federation Internationale de Motorcyclisme (FIM) absolute speed records on the 23-ft-long streamliner Easyriders, powered by two 1,491-cc Ruxton Harley-Davidson engines. Campos' overall speed was 322.16 mph …."

The Hayabusa is a wicked, fast machine. Put a turbo on it and it will safely run up to 330HP with no engine work. The most I have seen so far for a Busa is 702HP with the engine built, I believe that was at Daytona last year.

The stock Busa has been bested by a slight margin this year by the Kawasaki 1400. Another aw-sum machine.

I have a 01 Busa slightly build and it really does fly. Suzuki held back in 2007 with there new Busa. In Las Vegas our local Suzuki dealer was told that there will be a new Busa and it will beat the Kaw 1400 but they want to make sure all there ducks are in a row so the bike is completely ready. Most dealers are holding back on stocking the 07 Busa because the customer is waiting for the new improved model. I would not be surprised if you might see an early release on the new Busa half way thru the year.

It gets better every year!!

Depends wether you want speed record motorcycles or STOCK street motorcycles...the other answers named some, including the Dodge Viper powered Tomahawk (but that is NOT an available production motorcycle), the one the others missed is the MTT Turbine Super Bike, at 236 miles perhour, which is a production street bike.

If you mean fastest production bike (top speed although it takes a long time to get there) its the turbine thingy with the helicopter engine, the fastest mass produced bike( top speed)Kawasaki zx 1400,the fastest mass produced bike(acceleration) zx1200r although when you are talking these sorts of speeds there is not much in it, a tenth of a second here or 1 mph there.

There are two types of fast bikes:

1 - from the factory

2 - from a custom shop

Lots of custom shops make Japanese bike go fast in a straight line...200HP Hyabusa's drag bikes for Bonneville.

back to number 1. The fastest street bike from the factory is the Ducati Desmosedici RR. Last I heard 170HP but put it on a track and it will own the tarmac! Lets see a 200 HP Busa take the Corkscrew. 200HP Busa's go fast in a straight line, cant run it on a track. The Ducati is modeled after their A$$kicking motoGP bike.

Power, handling, beauty and price tag!

The MTT Turbine Super-bike. Clocked at 227 MPH

This is a production bike, but you don't see very many of them. They cost $150,000 USD.

I would also think the Boss Hoss BHC-3 502 would be pretty fast. It is powered by the Chevy ZZ502, 502 cubic inches, 502 horsepower, and 567 foot lbs torque. These are about $55,000 USD and have dealerships all over the U.S.

that would be the suzuki hayabusa, it also has the government still talking on the end of the race wars from bike manufactors but i believe that 06- or 07 is the last year of production.
