Uh, yeah.
Get to the hospital if they're regular.

Yes!! They may not be too strong right now, but the first contractions only feel like cramps. They will feel like cramps all thru the delivery, just the strength of them will be worse as it goes on. Time them. Write down the time from the begining of one to the begining of the other. Thats your time between contractions. If it is 3-5 minutes, CALL YOUR DOCTOR IMMEDIATELY! You are going into labor on your own. Good luck. Dont hesitate to call your doc! You dont want to have this baby alone. And congrats on the baby!

Honey, I am praying that you go into labour naturally because being induced is a thousand times worse.
With my first baby it was natural.
With my second I kept dialating. I was at five and just living my normal everyday life. The dr. was afraid that once my water broke it would go extremely fast so she admitted me tot he hopsital and induced me. I swear to you it was a thousand times worse and with the first baby I didnt' have any drugs. This time I had an epidural and it was still a thousand times worse.
As for contractions, at first they are light period cramps. Discomfort in your lower back and lower abdomen. They dont always have to regualr either. But they become more intense and you will know if it time to go.
You don't want to go to early because then you'll be stuck sitting around. So stay at home until you know for sure. Once you feel a contraction saying you need to go, then go.

Yep! They are really bad period like cramps... but only get worse... once your water breaks, after that, I had VERY sharp contractions to the point I couldn't stand, talk, walk, or do anything at all it took all my concentration to get through it!
Now here's something funny- I was supposed to be induced just like you were- at 41 weeks at 9:30am.... well, the night before, it was like 1am, my husband and I were in bed just talking about how it would go, and what all they would do, My husband was like, "the doctor will just go BAM!" (moving his fist punching in the air)... I giggled, and that's when my water broke! lol It trickled though- it wasn't a gush. anyways, I hear babies can tell if you are going to be induced, so they come before then lol
Just watch for your water breaking- then you need to get to the hospital to prevent infection... we ended up not getting any sleep since I went into labor before- they still had to give me pitocin because my baby wasn't descending at all. Ending in a c-section. But yes, you are probably having real contractions- I did 2 weeks prior to giving birth, but they became stronger after my water broke- to the point you know it's time.
Goodluck and congrats :)

Are they regular?
They could be contractions, they feel different for every body.
My contractions started in my back, so I dismissed them as backache, but I realised that something wasn't normal when it started fading and getting bad again.
Good luck, you are going to have your baby soon, whether by a naturally induced, or a medically induced labour.
Remember to breathe!

When I went to the hospital with my first... 3 times cause I thought I was in labor and I wasn't. The nurse told me... you are NOT in labor. You know why? Cause you cannot hold a conversation through a contraction. It steals your breath, feels like someone is squeezing you in 1/2. That is why they call it a contraction... :)
Good luck honey.

you know I searched in every book I have and online to see what cramps were supposed to feel like--I found out there is no answer out there because they are different for everyone--
but the labor 'cramps' 90% of the time start in your lower back--move around front & up your entire stomach (or they can start from the top of your stomach/belly and go down)
if you only feel them down in your lower stomach- like your period is coming--they are most likely braxton hicks.
oh--also, when you get the 'real' contractions-you shouldnt feel baby move afterwards

Sounds like you are having contractions honey!
They feel like the worst period cramps you have ever, ever had.
Gentle advice - start timing! Ask for the epidural too! ;)
Good luck mom to be!!!

well, true contractions are all over your tummy and reach around to the back and false labor ones were just on the bottom of your tummy. But contractions are different for each mother to be. It really depends on where you feel them. if you think its false labor, try changing activities or a bubble bath, if the pain increases then call your docter! and congrats on the new baby. I hope he or she is healthy for the New Year!
