I would think it would depend on the person and the situation.

Personally I have found that at the brink when you think you are done for, giving up hope is the most liberating feeling ever, and through that liberation can potentially be life saving from the extra risk you are willing to take when you think you are dead anyway.

At least thats been my experiance so far.

No, losing curiosity is the most depressing feeling. No matter how bad things were in my life the thing that kept me going AFTER I HAD GIVEN UP HOPE was curiosity. If I had NO curiosity about the future I'd have done myself in several times in the past. Sometimes I was convinced that things would never get better, so the thing that kept me going was curiosity about how bad things could get. Fortunately, life is good now, has been for a while, and I'm curious about the future in a very good way.

I really think that suicides where there seems to be no reason at all ("He had everything to live for!) are because the victim has lost his curiousity,,,,,,,,,,think how depressing that must be!!

No, I think there are other things more depressing, because you can regain hope, and there is all kinds of help if you want it.

A love one lost to an early death for example, can never be reversed, not in this lifetime anyways.

When you feel hopeless and can't understand the love you have for your family and the love they have for your, and you are unsettlled and want to cry your eyes out. This devastating feeling is just purely dispair in every sense of the workd. Try to lern to recognize it coming on and keep an eye on your health in other ways.

If you lose hope, you have lost everything.....even in the worst situation, there is always a glimmer of hope. Although you may not see it immediately...for remember, what you can achieve by staying alive, you can never, by losing hope......

yeah................don't do that.
The way I deal with it is I realize that I am here for a reason. God would have taken me already if I was finished here. That makes me think that the best is yet to come!

I know it is hard to keep that feeling sometimes, like today for me.
