I have a mother board that has four slots for DDR memory. It is in 2 sets of two (one blue and one black in each set). Where do I install 2 modules of memory - 1 in each blue, 1 in each black, or both in 1 set?

if you have different colour slots, then you should find that the memory chips will only fit in one colour slot this is the one to go for.

I don't think the two sets of slots are the same or take the same kind of memory. You need to check the manual. However, the memory should go in two of the same colored slots.

More information about the motherboard would help.

As you have 4 slots, I would put the memory in the closest slots to the CPU chip (look for the large fan). It sounds like this is an AMD CPU based PC. If it in intel based PC, then it could be utilizing Hyperthreading technology, and you may want to match the blu and the black together.

They sell memory at crucial.com. They will scan your PC and tell you what you can add. They also have lots of helpful information (Q&A) on the results page. There is also installation guides there. I only had two slots, and the instructions said to to put the biggest memory in the lowest slot (A, B or O, 1).
