Most ob/gyns give you the all clear for having sex when you have your postpartum visit at 6 weeks, but you should not have sex until your doctor says it is okay. Don't expect it to be the best sex ever - six weeks is usually long enough for your body to heal from the delivery, but your body has been through a lot of stress and it may be uncomfortable the first few times.

You need to wait for the discharge to stop and then, whenever you feel comfortable. I think we waited about three weeks after each c-section. Just remember, it is possible to get pregnant again so make sure you are using precautions.

i did it after 6 weeks, because you got to go in for a 6 week check up and then also get a birth control, so we used a condom before.
