I have a parcel post package thats supposed to be arriving but it isnt. I checked tracking and it only says Electronic Shipping Info Received

The U.S. Postal Service was electronically notified by the shipper on December 24, 2006 to expect your package for mailing.
Does this mean the sender already sent the package and its on its way? Whats going on?

What this means is that the shipper notified USPS (using on-line mailing documentation) that it had a package ready for shipping. However, if the shipper never delivers said package to the USPS then it cannot be delivered. It appears that your package never got from the shipper to the USPS, that is why it cannot be tracked.

This happened to me a couple of times this holiday season. I found this out the hard way and had to have the shippers reship the item.

My experience says that the seller has informed the USPS that they will be shipping a package. I didn't get anymore information other than it was delivered, which I knew at that time. I've yet to determine what good a USPS tracking number is.
I bought something on ebay and the seller said that they took no responsibility for the package after it was shipped. I wanted proof it was shipped. Instead, I paid for proof it was delivered. If it had not received it, it would have done me no good. LOL.
Can you contact the seller for more information or proof of shipment? I know that you can fill out a form for a lost package but not sure if that will do you any good either.

USPS got way missed up with the storm in Denver and a flooded building in VA. they even delievered Sunday 12/24 to play catch up. but it is going to take time to clean up. My sister had two package get hung up but they were received Sunday. She knows as the guys called her but she still couldn't track them as delivered.
It sounds like on 12/24 the shipper asked USPS to pick up the package which would have been done 12/26/06 so the USPS probably should scan it in today or tomorrow

Yes, but keep in mind that's 12/24.... it's a major holiday week, and most people aren't shipping things on time, and if they are, shipping companies aren't following normal business flow.

Info notice means scheduled for pick up. It should be scanned at each step like picked up. Call the sender to make sure it was picked up.

SOUNDS LIKE THAT TO ME. IT'S IN THE MAIL. IF YOU DON'T GET IT WHEN YOU THINK YOU SHOULD , GIVE THEM A CALL, WHERE YOU ORDERED IT FROM.
