Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:
https://bitly.im/aMD5R
Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

We all have colonies of yeast normally in our bodies. When the proper amounts of good bacteria is present, a balance is achieved and the yeast stays in it's own yard. When an imbalance occurs, like taking antibiotics which wipe out all the good bacteria, the yeast takes over and causes us lots of grief. The plan is to replace the good bacteria to again achieve a balance. There are other things that can cause an abundance of yeast. One is too much sugar in the body as in diabetes. Yeast thrives on sugar and grows tremendously. The way to restore that balance is to replace the bacteria lost by taking supplements that do just that. One is Pau d' Arco, found at health food stores. It is a probiotic that restores that balance. Another is Flora-Q. This is a capsule that contains millions of good bacteria which goes straight to your gut where they begin the battle to take back the body. Your Dr. could give you a Rx for other meds to decrease the yeast numbers; one is a pill, Diflucan, the other is some type of vaginal suppository.
To keep the yeast at bay once you get rid of it, avoid sugars and breads as much as possible, eat lots of yogurt with "active and live acidopholus cultures, and take Acidopholus capsules daily.
Oh, yeah, if you are sexually active, your partner must be treated also or you'll keep passing it back and forth.

The most common symptom of a yeast infection is extreme itchiness in and around the vagina. Other symptoms include:
Burning, redness, and swelling of the vagina and the area around it
Pain when urinating
Pain or discomfort during sex
A thick, white vaginal discharge that looks like cottage cheese and does not have a bad smell
Causes of one can be...
High estrogen levels affect the pH balance of the vagina and can create an environment that allows overgrowth of yeast.
High blood sugar can help yeast to multiply.
When the immune system is weak it can reduce the body’s ability to fight off infections. Weakened immune systems can be caused by: poor diet, stress, and lack of sleep, diabetes, HIV infection or any other immune system disorder.
Antibiotic drugs kill bacteria in the body (which they are supposed to do) but can also kill the bacteria in the vagina, allowing yeast to multiply and cause a yeast infection.
Menstrual period
Stress
Tight-fitting pants and synthetic fibers
To treat it you can go get meds from your Dr or go to a store and buy the over the counter meds like gynalotamin. You can treat them in 1-7 days depending on what meds you go with.

A yeast infection happens when the natural bacteria in your body gets out of whack, and one bad kind of bacteria takes over. This can be caused by eating certain foods, certain clothing, taking antibiotics, and many other things.
There are over the counter medications for this, but it is suggested to get a doctor's opinion on your first one.
The best prevention is making yogurt a regular part of your diet. Yogurt helps the good bacteria, so it continues to dominate your body.

There are several ways to get a yeast infection. Antibiotics, diet, clothing, are just a few of the things that can cause them. You can buy over the counter treatments at your local drug store. I buy the store brand and save money and they work just as well as the name brand. Also, eating yogurt is supposed to help prevent them. Keep clean and dry and change underwear often until it gets better. Cotton underwear is the best because it will help keep moisture away from you which will only worsen the problem.
